Gouverneur Man Accused In Over 20 Vehicle Break-Ins


A Gouverneur man was arrested Monday following an investigation into more than 20 complaints of items stolen from vehicles last weekend.

Gouverneur police say they found several stolen items when the searched the West Main Street apartment of 20 year old Richard Cyrus.

The items included a double-barrel shotgun, debit card, cell phones, MP3 player and a navigation device.

Cyrus is charged with two counts of fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property and three counts of fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Cyrus was arraigned on the charges and ordered held in St. Lawrence County jail on $5,000 bail.
