Gouverneur Officials Dump Proposed Horse Diaper LawA proposed law that would have required horses in the village of Gouverneur to wear special diapers has been flushed down the drain. Village trustees unanimously rejected the plan Tuesday night after members of the community complained it discriminated against the Amish who shop in the village. The law was drafted after some residents complained manure from Amish horses was creating a health problem. Members of the Amish community told 7 News they would boycott Gouverneur businesses if the law was put into place. |
