Gouverneur Residents Say Proposed Law Is a Load Of . . .

It was standing-room only Thursday night as Gouverneur residents told village officials they think the proposed "manure law," well, stinks.

The law would force Amish visitors to the village to equip their horses with manure-catching diapers and force them to clean up any droppings.

At a public hearing Thursday, plenty of people came forward saying the proposal is ridiculous.

Some lawmakers agreed, saying the manure problem has been blown out of proportion.

No word yet if the proposed law will actually be voted on.
