A Jefferson County grand jury indicted a state corrections officer for allegedly possessing stolen property and tampering with evidence.

Aaron Netto was indicted on three counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and single counts of tampering with physical evidence and fifth-degree conspiracy.

The 35 year old Watertown man was arrested in October after police executed a search warrant at his Ridgeway Road home.

Police said they found property that had been stolen during several area burglaries.

They said Netto was buying and selling stolen property.

That same month, Netto was additionally accused of tampering with evidence in his case.

According to the indictment, Netto possessed a stolen refrigerator, two generators, a Wacker tamper and a chain saw.

The items were allegedly stolen from construction sites around the county.
