Grand Jury Indicts In Fatal Crash, Other CasesA Jefferson County grand jury indicted a Town of Watertown man Tuesday in a fatal crash last July. Grand jurors also indicted a woman in a stabbing earlier this year at a Watertown restaurant. In the crash case, Kristian M. Loftus, 35, of Hadcock Road was indicted on vehicular manslaughter, driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right charges. Last July 15, Loftus allegedly drove his vehicle into the oncoming lane on Hadcock Road, killing his neighbor, Richard Sample, 52, also of Hadcock Road. Sample was riding a motorcycle. In the stabbing case, grand jurors indicted Marta Rapp, 23, on two counts of assault, second degree, two counts of menacing, second degree and two counts of reckless endangerment, along with a charge of criminal possession of a weapon. The grand jury accused Rapp of stabbing Sondra Arquiett, 22 of Black River in the leg. She's also accused of swinging a knife at Leigh Hollenbeck, 22, also of Black River. Grand jurors also indicted Jordan Page, 18, on charges of robbery, petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, harassment, burglary and criminal mischief. Page was one of three men accused by Watertown police of robbing a man last October and leaving him wearing only his boxer shorts and socks. Page was additionally charged earlier this year with making a homemade bomb that he allegedly planned to set off at an ice arena in Massena. (See our report on the Massena incident here.)
