Grants are available to help fund projects that benefit the town and village of Lowville.
Last year, the George R. Davis Fund for Lowville awarded a total of $9,000 for four projects out of 16 that were proposed.
This year, $10,000 is available.
Grants were awarded in 2012 to:
- The Lewis County Office for the Aging: for purchasing a commercial freezer for the Maple Ridge congregate meal kitchen site.
- The town of Lowville: to help repair and reset the retaining wall at the Old Lowville Cemetery.
- The Arts Community of Lewis County: for a four-part film series.
- Double Play Sports Community Center: to provide scholarships for their summer enrichment program.
The fund is administered by the Northern New York Community Foundation. Applications are available at www.nnycf.org.
The deadline is April 26.
