Ground Search Continues For Downed Drone

A search of Lake Ontario's eastern shore has resumed for a multimillion-dollar military drone that crashed during a training flight this week.

Maj. Sandra Stoquert of the Air National Guard's Syracuse-based 174th Attack Wing says members of the unit were conducting a ground search Thursday along the shore on the lake's eastern end.

The drone took off from Fort Drum and crashed into the lake Tuesday about 12 miles from the eastern shore and 20 miles northeast of Oswego.

The 174th has asked the U.S. Air Force for help in finding the drone, but no other information on the request has been released.

The company that makes the Reaper says the cost of a new drone starts at $10 million.
