Gun Law Opponents Flock To Albany

Opponents who say New York's new gun control law infringes on their right to bear arms criticized Gov. Andrew Cuomo and legislators, chanted for freedom and took a collective oath to uphold the constitution at an outdoor rally by 500 protesters in Albany Tuesday.

The organization Turn Albany Upside Down said both the quick passage and some provisions are unlawful. They call the seven-bullet limit on magazines "arbitrary and capricious."

Carl Paladino, 2010 Republican candidate for governor, also blamed GOP senators who backed Democrat Cuomo's gun bill.

Inside the Capitol, about 75 members of One Million Moms for Gun Control and other groups praised Cuomo and lawmakers for leadership on gun limits they expect to help reduce violence.

Several Democratic assemblymen say the law won't be rolled back.
