'Hair For Harriett' Benefits Cancer Victim

A good friend will go to great lengths and, in this case, the great length was very short hair.

Friends of Harriet McMillan chopped off their hair in support of Harriet's battle with breast cancer.

It's part of the "Hair for Harriet" event held at All Souls Church in Watertown.

McMillan could not attend the event in person, but watched over the internet.

She says it was amazing to see not only her friends, but also a complete stranger come out and shave her head.

"It just amazed me that someone I never met would be willing to do that," McMillan said.

"I feel that it's very important to support people when they're going through chemo and it'll give them strength," said Diane Cade, a cancer survivor who never met McMillan.

"It's just a good thing to do," Cade said.

All Souls Church will also collect donations in McMillan's name to give to the Business Women Breast Cancer Walk Fund.
