A man who runs a campground in St. Lawrence County is accused of sexually abusing a child for six years.

Sheriff's investigators arrested 57 year old Gerard Scime of 2628 County Route 6 in Hammond.

Detective Sergeant Gus Burns said Scime runs North Country Cottages & Campground behind his home.

Scime is charged with first-degree sexual abuse for allegedly molesting a girl beginning in 2004 when she was six years old.

Officials said the abuse started in 2004 and continued until 2010 when the victim turned 12 years old.

Investigators are attempting to find other victims who may have been abused but did not report it.

Officials said it's possible victims may be from outside of the area.

Scime was brought before Morristown Town Justice James Phillips and ordered held in the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on $20,000 cash or $40,000 bond.
