Hearthstone Thrift Store Makes Comeback

Tools

It's a fresh start for Hearthstone Ministries Thrift Store.

It now has a new location under the Family Dollar in Adams.

Hearthstone Ministries left its East Church Street store in August.

The owners say they were handed an eviction notice in April with no explanation.

"We said when we were in court last time that we were still going to be here for our community and God provided so that we are," Bill Sampson said.

It's made possible by a private trust called Evergreen Estates. It agreed to let the thrift store stay in the building rent-free.

Hearthstone has to only worry about utilities and liability insurance.

"For over two years we've been here to help our community," Sampson said. "We thought we were going to be completely done and now we're not."

The thrift store will officially reopen for business on Friday and is accepting donations.
