It may be summer, but it's never too early to start thinking about ice hockey!

The Watertown Hockey Association is gearing up for the upcoming season by holding fundraisers as well as registration and informational sessions.

Children of all ages and their parents are invited to check out what the WHA has to offer.

Informational and registration sessions will be held on August 8 and 21 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Freeman Bus Corporation on Marble Street.

For more information, call (315) 778-7436 and leave a message.

In order to help offset the cost of the sport to the players, WHA holds a number of fundraisers.

Members will be selling food Thursday at a booth during Mountainfest at Fort Drum.

They're also planning a golf tournament on July 28 at the Rustic Golf & Country Club.

The captain and crew tournament costs $50 per person and includes 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch and a dinner buffet.

There will be prizes, raffles and an auction.

The shotgun start will be at 10 a.m.

For more information about the tournament or to sign up, call (315) 777-7783.
