High Wind Warning Issued For Tri-County Region

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties.

The warning goes into effect in Jefferson and Lewis counties at 2 a.m. Friday and continues until 7 p.m.

The NWS says winds will be out of the southwest at 30 to 40 miles per hour with gusts up to 60 miles per hour.

In St. Lawrence County, the high wind warning remains in effect from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.

Winds will be out of the southwest at 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 65 miles per hour.

Winds of this magnitude may bring down some trees and power lines resulting in scattered power outages.
