History Comes Alive In Russell

It was a weekend of living history in the hamlet of Russell.

The reenactment group Forsyth's Rifles set up camp at the former farm of Russell Atwater, the founder of the town of Russell.

It was part of Arsenal Heritage Weekend which celebrated St. Lawrence County's only arsenal during the War of 1812, an arsenal built on Atwater's property.

After a day of reenactments, open house and exhibits, visitors were invited to dinner with the troops at the fire department.
