It was an outpouring of love and support for a north country legend.
Hundreds came together for a benefit concert in Watertown to help long-time musician Ray John.
The 72 year old is battling renal failure and was recently diagnosed with tuberculosis of the bladder. so friends and the community, are helping pay his medical expenses.
"I am elated," John said. "I've seen everybody, all these musicians and all the people."
"It's so easy to find people to come and help," said organizer David Scanlin. "They'd call me and say 'what can we do?'"
"A lot of people love Ray John," he said.
The concert was held at Watertown's North Side Improvement League.
