The New York State Department of Transportation is reminding motorists that work has begun on the project to replace the bridges carrying Interstate 81 over State Route 232 in the town of Watertown.

Traffic patterns have changed.

On I-81, northbound and southbound traffic has been reduced to one lane in each direction.

Traffic using the southbound on-ramp will be required to stop before merging onto I-81.

The cross-over on I-81 will be in service prior to the July 4 weekend with traffic being reduced to one lane in each direction and both north and southbound using the southbound bridge.
