Independent Living Group Wants Feedback On ProgramsState officials were in Watertown Thursday to find out what the north country thinks of independent living. The New York State Independent Living Council held a public forum at its regional center on Court Street. The council wanted feedback on how it should arrange services in its facilities statewide. Officials say the forum was useful. "Once you get above the Thruway - because then you start getting into more rural areas - there's less, but that's why we start asking these questions," said council director Brad Williams. The New York State Independent Living council helps people with disabilities live on their own using a $16 million annual budget. Most Popular |
