Injured Pedestrian Charged With Standing In Highway
A man critically injured when he was struck by a car earlier this month in the town of Potsdam has been arrested.
St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies say 36 year old Christopher Deshane of Potsdam was charged with disorderly conduct because he was standing in the middle of a rain-soaked highway in the early morning hours of September 12.
He was struck by a car driven by 26 year old Natalie Plunkett, also of Potsdam, who saw Deshane in the heavy downpour on Route 56, but was unable to avoid hitting him.
DeShane was taken to Fletcher Allen Medical Center in Burlington for treatment of head injuries.
He will answer the charge in Potsdam town court at a later date.
