Irish Fest Day Two: The Pipes

Tools

People visiting the annual 'North Country Goes Green' festival in Watertown Saturday were serenaded by the sound of bagpipes.

Sergeant Charles Riggs from the 10th Mountain Division performed outside the Dulles state office building on behalf of the Wounded Warrior Project.

Sergeant Riggs called the day "good fun," and said he'd been able to take in some of the Irish music inside the state office building.

The festival wraps up Sunday with family day - admission is $6 for a family and $2 for individuals.

(By the way, while many people associate bagpipes with Scotland, they have a rich history in Ireland as well. Some background on the subject can be found here.)
