Jefferson County Woman Faces Prison In Theft Case

A Jefferson County woman was sentenced Wednesday to 2 to 4 years in prison.

Barbara Miller. 58, of Rutland, stole thousands of dollars from the 'Subway' shop on Outer Washington Street that she managed.

Miller pleaded guilty in March to grand larceny, third degree.

Besides the prison sentence, she faces a $75,371 restitution.

At the time of her arrest, detectives said Miller removed or destroyed deposit slips to cover up what she was allegedly taking.

The theft allegedly occured between June 2005 and July 2011.
