Judge Sends Trimm Back To Jail...For Now

For the moment, accused killer Dustin Trimm is back in the St. Lawrence County Jail without bail.

He was free after posting $250,000, but there's a chance the court will revoke the bail because of new criminal charges.

A decision on his bail won't be decided until next Wednesday.

Until that time, the judge has remanded him back to jail without any bail.

The 37 year old Winthrop man remained silent Friday morning as he was brought to county court where prosecutors told Judge Jerome Richards Trimm's bail should be revoked.

"It has always been the people's position that in a case such as this, where the charge is murder and the potential sentence includes 25 (years) to life in prison, that the court should take a very careful look at the situation. And it's always been our position in this case that the defendant should be incarcerated," said St. Lawrence County District Attorney Nicole Duve.

Trimm was free on $250,000 bail on a murder charge when he allegedly sent a 16 year old Hopkinton boy text messages offering to pay him $50 to perform oral sex.

Trimm is alleged to have fatally shot 21 year old Jason Wing three times in late August-early September 2010 and then buried his body near Raymondville.

The body was recovered in February.

The latest incident allegedly took place in May, about a month after Trimm was released on bail, and led to new misdemeanor charges of patronizing a prostitute, endangering the welfare of a child and providing alcohol to a person under the legal drinking age.

Trimm is a Level 2 registered sex offender from a 1997 sodomy conviction involving a 15 year old male.

His attorney, Richard Manning, tells us the new charges aren't cause enough to revoke Trimm's bail and for the judge to do so would be "harsh":

Meanwhile, Jason Wing's family is planning a remembrance gathering at the Bombay home of the murder victim's grandfather on Saturday afternoon.
