Judge To Decide If Head Shop Owner Is Liable

 A judge will decide whether the owner of Tebb's Head Shops is responsible for selling illegal synthetic drugs.

John Tebbetts was back in state Supreme Court in Watertown Monday.

He is accused of selling bath salts, glass cleaner and other synthetic designer drugs in his eight shops across the state. 

A judge will evaluate whether Tebbetts is liable for selling the drugs in violation of state labeling laws.

"I'm very confident that there is liability in this case, that Mr. Tebbetts was selling a lot misbranded drugs out of his store locations throughout the state of New York," said Deanna Nelson, the assistant attorney general based in Watertown.

If Tebbetts is found liable, the court case will continue on February 20.
