Keeping Animals Cool During Fair Week

Jefferson County Fair goers are finding ways to deal with the heat, but what about the animals who call the fair home this week?

How are they coping?

Just fine thanks to some big fans and a lot of water.

Cold showers work too.

"After we finish milking them, we wet the cows down, give them a shower to keep them cooler and we try to run the fans as much as we can," said Todd Hyman of Highlight Farms.

Despite the heat, fair officials say attendance is up by more than 3,000 people compared to the first two days of last year's fair.
