Kids Collect Food For Urban Mission

Tools

Some Watertown children decided to do something nice.

A group of third graders from Sherman Street Elementary organized a food drive and collected 701 food items they donated to the Watertown Urban Mission to help feed families during the holiday season.

After moving those 701 items, the kids were pretty surprised at how heavy food can be.

"Really, really, really heavy," Sam Lachenauer said.

"Heavy," Jaylee Thesier said. "I actually scraped my knee."

The Urban Mission says need is up once again this year and those 701 items will help a great deal.
