LaFargeville Man Airlifted to Syracuse Following Crash

A LaFargeville man was flown by helicopter to Syracuse early this morning, following a crash in the town of Alexandria.

State Police say just before 1:00 a.m., 19 year-old Nicholas Patchen was driving northbound on the Olney Road, when he drove off the right shoulder, over-corrected, traveled off the left shoulder and overturned.

State Police say Patchen was not wearing his seat belt, and was thrown from the vehicle.

He was taken by ambulance to the Pulaski area, and then flown to Syracuse.

State Police say Patchen is being treated for numerous injuries.  Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
