Lake Effect Snow Likely Tuesday Night & Wednesday

Tools

It's still February and you can tell by the weather.

A lake effect snow warning is in effect for Jefferson and Lewis counties from 7 p.m. Tuesday until 7 p.m. Wednesday. Most of the snow should be concentrated over the Tug Hill region.

The National Weather Service predicts accumulations of 2 inches Tuesday, 3 to 5 inches Tuesday night and 5 to 10 inches on Wednesday.

The weather service says frequent whiteouts in areas where there's heavy snow and blowing snow could make driving conditions difficult.

No advisories are issued to St. Lawrence County, where they should have rain for the rest of Tuesday and a dusting to 3 inches of snow overnight.
