Last Flight From Watertown For Cape Air

It's the end of an era at Watertown International airport. Cape Air has officially ended service out of Jefferson County, with the last flight out to Albany taking off Wednesday afternoon.

American Eagle begins direct flights to Chicago on Thursday.

"We're going to miss Cape Air," said airport manager Jim Lawrence. "They've provided a professional service, but with American Eagle it's the community.

"It will be great for the community and the needs of the community. We look for great things in the future," he said.

Cape Air may have closed up shop in Watertown, but it will continue to serve the North Country with flights out of Ogdensburg and Massena.
