Last Man Sentenced In 2008 Stockholm Murder Case

The last man has been sentenced in connection with the drug-related murder of a St. Lawrence County man.

Chad Edwards will spend ten years in prison for his role in the attempted robbery and killing of Daniel Simonds on May 13, 2008.

The 26 year old Cornwall, Ontario, man was sentenced last Friday in U.S. District Court in Utica.

Edwards previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to engage in a robbery and possessing, aiding and abetting the possession of a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime.

During the confrontation, Simonds was shot once by one of his assailants.

He died later that day at a hospital in Vermont.
