Lawmakers Okay Broomball for Watertown

Broomball will be making its debut at the Watertown Ice Arena.

City Council has given its okay to offering the game of broomball every other Sunday night.

Broomball is like ice hockey, but without the skates.

Players use a stick made from a broom and they attempt to hit a smaller version of a volleyball into the net.

The equipment will be provided at the arena.

All you need to do is show up in shoes, sneakers or boots, and pay $4 to get in.

The arena will have three areas set up for broomball.

You can play from 8 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

Broomball gets underway February 3.
