Learn Healthy Food Choices With Cooperative Extension Workshop

With nationwide concerns about childhood obesity and oversize sodas, Cornell Cooperative Extension is once again holding a free workshop on making healthy food choices.

This is the fourth year the extension has offered the Healthy Children, Healthy Families series.

The program is designed to help people reduce the stress of feeding their families, as well as help kids and parents make better food choices.

It's an effort to give them better tools to choose better foods.

"And we focus on a variety, about six different health practices, that people can incorporate into their their life," said community educator Janet Lomastro.

It's just been a great program," said Christine Orr, a participant.

"My family has really benefited from it," Orr said.

The classes begin July 12 and run for eight Thursdays during the summer.

Call Cooperative Extension at 315-788-8450 to sign up.
