MGN Online

A camp in the Lewis County town of Leyden sustained heavy smoke and water damage in a fire Thursday.

Firefighters were called to 7285 Kiner Road shortly after 7 a.m. after a neighbor spotted smoke and flames.

There was no one staying the camp, which is owned by Steve and Lorraine Kordziel of Remsen.

Officials said the fire started in the kitchen area, probably under the floor.

The cause is undetermined.
