Lewis County Gets New Trails Coordinator

Lewis County has named a new trails coordinator.

Jacqueline Mahoney, a Lewis County resident and native, will start in her new position on May 28.

Right now, she's a self-employed consultant in the forestry industry.

County Legislature Chair Mike Tabolt has been doing the trails coordinator job and is looking forward to turning over the reins.

"I personally found that it takes a lot of dedication and I'm just delighted that we finally got somebody else on board to take over that program," said Tabolt.

The previous trails coordinator, Robert Diehl, was fired about two months ago.

He was indicted on charges including grand larceny for allegedly billing the county for gravel that was delivered to his home.
