Lewis County Lawmakers Split About Embattled Trails Coordinator

Tools

The Lewis County Board of Legislators met behind closed doors for an hour and a half Monday night discussing what to do about trails coordinator Bob Diehl.

They left without making a decision.

Diehl is accused of submitting a purchase order for to pay for gravel he used for his own driveway.

Diehl was suspended and faces criminal charges.

Sources tell 7 News the board is basically split in half about what to do about Diehl's job

Some want to go by a judge's recommendation to suspend him for 60 days.

Others want to do something else, but it's not clear exactly what.

None of the legislators would answer questions after the meeting, but it is known that some of Diehl's supporters on the board aren't happy with the way the situation was handled.

What the legislature does could affect Diehl's criminal case.

Lawmakers meet again Friday for further discussion.
