Library Director Volunteers to Cover Sunday Hours During Trial Run

Flower Memorial Library in Watertown could be one step closer to being open seven days a week.

That's thanks in large part to library director Barbara Wheeler, who has volunteered to work Sundays during an eight-week pilot program to test expanding the library's operating hours.

According to the report in Monday night's City Council agenda, two library clerks would still need to be hired to work the extra day because current staffing levels won't cover Sunday hours.

The two clerk positions will be advertised as temporary appointments.

The pilot program is planned for October 7 through November 25.
