Lisbon Man Killed When Jeep Strikes Telephone Pole

A 63 year old Lisbon man died Monday evening following an accident in the Jefferson County town of Alexandria.

It happened shortly before 6 p.m. on Route 37 in Redwood.

State police said Frank Martin was traveling north when his Jeep went off the road and struck a telephone pole.

The pole was sheared off in the collision.

Martin was removed from the wreckage by Redwood Fire Department volunteers and transported to River Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said they were investigating the cause of the accident.
