Local Agency Helps Workers Be Prepared For Violence

Monday's shooting rampage at the Washington Navy Yard, which left 13 people dead, including the suspected gunman, is raising many questions.

One is: how people can prepare themselves for violence of any kind in the workplace?

The Jefferson County Public Health Service is sponsoring a defense course to help workers be better prepared for violent situations.

The two-hour class will meet three times on Wednesday, at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The class will be held at the Bruce Wright Memorial Conference Center, right next to Guilfoyle Ambulance Service, on Faichney Drive in Watertown.

The public is welcome to attend.
