Local Band To Perform At Woodstock Reunion Concert

A St. Lawrence County band called the Waydown Wailers will be performing in Waddington Thursday night as part of the Bassmasters Competition.

But, the audience will be much larger next week when the Canton-based band plays at Woodstock on the 44th anniversary of the rock and roll music festival.

"It's an honor. It's just unbelievable," said drummer Michael Scriminger.

Scriminger and Dave Parker founded the band two years ago.

They're joined by musicians Christian Parker and Conner Pelkey.

The band has just released its first CD called "State of the Union" on Woodstock Records.

The CD is produced by Aaron Hurwitz who worked with the late Levon Helm and The Band.
