Local Developer Invents 'Model' Card GameThe story starts with a small newspaper classified ad looking for female models to dress as warriors for a game. Game developer Patrick Hill is creating a card game. But the cards won't be the standard poker deck, they'll feature scantily clad women. The game? It's called Amazons: Warrior Queens of the Forbidden Planet. "It gets back to kind of a pulp '50s science fiction where you're playing rival tribes of Amazonian women in this sci-fi setting," Hill said. Response to the ad has been good. Hill says he has shot a number of models in just the past two weeks. Hill has been creating games since he was a kid. "All of these are kind of cherished memories and led up to the fact that, as I got older, I kind of wanted to leave, you know, that thing behind," he said. "The one thing I kind of wanted to leave behind was a game." There will be 120 cards in all. That's a lot of models and a lot of costumes, but he hopes to be done shooting in the next two weeks. The game should be completed a couple months after that. In the end, he'll have cards like Ninja Spy and Newbie Medic -- cards Hill is hoping are a little more exciting than the queen of spades.
