Local Man Inducted into NYS Veterans Hall of Fame

Retired Army Colonel Michael Plummer's contributions to the north country and Fort Drum have earned him a spot in the New York State's Veterans Hall of Fame.

He was one of about 50 veterans from across the state honored in Albany last week at this year's Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Among other things, Plummer was instrumental in bringing the 10th Mountain Division to the area in the 1980s.

He also launched the Adopt-a-Platoon program that has gone nationwide.

He was chosen from among 39 veterans nominated in State Senator Patty Ritchie's District to receive this honor.
