Local Restaurant Changing Hands

A mainstay for local Italian food is changing hands after 42 years.

Pete's Restaurant on Breen Avenue in Watertown will be taken over this fall by local Chef Geoff Puccia.

Current owner Tom Costanzo is retiring and says of his time in the restaurant business,

"It's not a job, it's a way of life.  And to be able to pass it on to someone who has the same passion, is a great thing."

He also said he couldn't have picked someone better to take over Pete's.

The agreement between Costanzo and Puccia gives Puccia an option to buy. All the paperwork should be signed this week.

The restaurant will likely be renamed and Puccia expects to update a few things in the dining room and kitchen.
