They are young and they're already outstanding achievers.

The 2014 Youth Recognition Awards Luncheon was held Wednesday in Watertown.

Several teens were recognized for outstanding achievements and several adults were honored for their commitment to youth.

"Leadership, volunteerism, overcoming odds and for the adults, it's just all the time and effort they put into the community working with youth," said James Schell, Jefferson County Youth Bureau director.

"It's really nice to show what strengths we all have in our community," said Anne Boulter, chair of the Jefferson County Youth Advisory Board.

The awards are sponsored by a partnership between Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County and the county Department of Social Services.
