Longtime Head of Lewis County Fair Dies
The longtime head of the Lewis County fair died Wednesday afternoon.
Dr. Harry O'Connor was 70 years old.
O'Connor, a veterinarian, died while on the job in New Bremen.
He was the current president of the Lewis County Agriculture Society, a past head of Lewis County Hospital board of managers, and had a long history of civic leadership.
He had been president of the Agriculture Society for 25 years, and was on the board for 40 years.
"When we had a project, he was always the first one there and the last one to leave," said Gary Rosiczkowski, a member of the fair board for 15 years.
"I think that's the best way to describe him."
Funeral arrangements with Sundquist Funeral Home in Lowville are incomplete.
