Man Accused Of Forging Prescription

A Black River man is accused of forging a prescription in order to increase the number of pain killers he could get from the pharmacy.

State police arrested 29 year old James Jarvis on a felony count of second-degree forgery.

On January 23, police were dispatched to the Super Walmart pharmacy on Route 11 in the town of LeRay for a forged prescription for Tramadol tablets.  

According to police, Jarvis forged a prescription when he altered the amount of Tramadol tablets by increasing the count by 50 pills.
 
Jarvis was arrested, arraigned in LeRay Town Court and remanded to the Jefferson County Jail in lieu $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond.
