Man Accused Of Smuggling Drugs Into Jail


A western New York man faces charges after he allegedly tried to take drugs into the St. Lawrence County jail.

Sheriff's deputies say 40 year old Gilbert Murdock of Niagara Falls, N.Y., was caught trying to enter the facility Wednesday with a small amount of cocaine in his possession.
He was charged with first degree promoting prison contraband and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He was arraigned in Canton town court and sent to jail on $500 bail.
