A Hammond man is accused of breaking into a downtown Watertown business and trying to set it on fire.

Watertown police say 41 year old Randy Kraft allegedly broke into Vito's Gourmet in the Paddock Arcade and tried to start a fire by pouring kerosene near a stove that had a burner on low flame.
The kerosene did not ignite.
Police say he was a former employee of the restaurant who had been terminated.
The attempted arson was discovered by cleaning personnel.
Kraft charged with second degree attempted arson and second degree burglary.
Police say it happened May 9. He turned himself in to police Tuesday.
He was arraigned in Watertown city court and released on his own recognizance.
