A Watertown man was arrested after the alleged stolen car he was driving went off the road and hit a town of Pamelia home.

State police say 31 year old Christopher Perciful was seen driving a 2009 Chevrolet Impala on Route 81 near Exit 48 at around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Troopers say the car was reported stolen to Watertown police earlier.

Police say Perciful refused to stop and later lost control of the vehicle on Route 37. The car went off the road and struck a house.

Perciful fled on foot, but was later spotted "by an alert citizen" at Longway's Truck Stop, where he was arrested without incident.

He was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and fourth degree criminal mischief.

He was arraigned in Pamelia town court and committed to Jefferson County jail.
