Man Arrested In Ogdensburg Stabbing

The Ogdensburg Police Department arrested a 19 year old Rochester man in connection with a drug-related stabbing in the city.

Olajuwon Holt, also known as "Fraido," is charged with first-degree attempted assault, first-degree robbery, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana.

Police said they received a report Monday night of a possible stabbing at 1130 Ford Street.

When patrols arrived, officials learned that the incident happened about 20 minutes before police were called.

The victim, identified as 37 year old Michael Wells, who lives at 1130 Ford Street, wasn't there.

Officers later found him in the emergency room of Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, where he was being treated for two stab wounds.

Police said Wells received a small stab wound to the center of his chest as well as a stab wound to the left side of his abdomen.

He was treated at the hospital and then released.

Police were later able to identify a suspect by his street name, "Fraido," and his possible location.

When police found him, they said the suspect fled, leading officers on a brief foot chase.

They caught him hiding in an upstairs bedroom at a home on Mill Street.
Police alleged that Olajuwon "Fraido" Holt had gone to Wells' home to buy marijuana.

According to police, Holt grabbed drugs and money, then stabbed Wells with a large knife.

Holt was awaiting arraignment in Ogdensburg City Court.
