An Ogdensburg was charged after he allegedly struck his 14 year old son in a moving car.

State police say 36 year old Thomas Sawyer allegedly struck the teen, who was a passenger in the rear seat, with a closed fist.

Troopers say Sawyer was also a passenger in the car, which was traveling on State Route 37 in the town of Waddington.

Police say two other young children were also in the car.

Sawyer was charged with third degree assault and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was also charged with first degree criminal contempt for violating a court order preventing him from assaulting or harassing his son.

He was arraigned in Waddington town court and sent to St. Lawrence County jail without bail.
