Man Charged With Hurting Dog During Domestic Dispute

A Herrings man was charged yesterday with hurting his dog during a domestic dispute.

Jefferson County sheriff deputies say that during an argument with his wife, 46 year old William Baker allegedly struck the dog several times with his fist, threw a glass bottle at it, and hit it with a wine glass hard enough to break the glass.

Baker left his Route 3 residence after the alleged incident and was picked up by patrols later on Route 342.

Baker was charged with cruelty to an animal and with second degree criminal attempt for allegedly violating a restraining order.

He was arraigned and released pending a later court appearance.
