Man Charged With Setting Fire To Mattress Someone Was Sleeping OnIt's one thing to set fire to a mattress. It's another if someone is sleeping on it. Jefferson County Sheriff deputies say 31 year old Gary Monaghan Jr. of Carthage allegedly set fire to Sharon Hughes' mattress while she was sleeping on it. Deputies say Monaghan also allegedly grabbed her head and threatened to snap her neck. The incident allegedly occurred last month at Hughes' town of Wilna home. Monaghan is charged with fifth degree arson, third degree criminal mischief, second degree reckless endangerment and second degree harassment. He will answer the charges town of Wilna court at a later date. |
